For many people mental ill health is the sole reason they end up on our website. Whether it's because it's affecting them directly, or maybe it's because someone they know, or care for, has a condition they're living with on a daily basis and need some help. It often describes their current location on life's journey.

For others though, mental illness is something that's a little further down the line. It perhaps doesn't impact their lives just now, but the chances are, that it may well impact their journey later on. It's their destination, even if they don't see it on the road ahead.

Similar to our 'What Is' section that details dozens of different mental illnesses, here we're going to tackle subjects that may not seem to be directly related to mental illness, but can ultimately play their part at some point if you don't know the signs to look for.

We're going to look at what they are, but more importantly, we're going to look at what you can do to prevent it and where you can turn if you can see them coming down the tracks. With that in mind, let's take a look at what is (...or 'are' for you grammar nazi's).
